Project
Tulum House is a private villa located in Tulum, Mexico, where interior elements were developed in close relationship with the natural atmosphere of the place.
The project focused on the realization and co-design of custom internal furnishings, with particular attention to the bed system and the bamboo boiserie. Rather than acting as decorative additions, these elements were conceived as architectural layers: surfaces, textures, and volumes that define the identity of the room while maintaining a direct connection with the surrounding landscape.
Furniture / Materiality
The use of bamboo becomes the central gesture of the intervention. Its rhythm, warmth, and tactile quality introduce a natural structure within the interior, creating a balance between craftsmanship and spatial composition.
The bed and boiserie were developed through a process of material checking, cleaning, construction, and on-site refinement. This hands-on approach allowed the furniture to respond directly to the space, transforming raw material into a precise and atmospheric interior element.
Atmosphere
The design language follows the quiet intensity of Tulum: warm materials, essential forms, and a strong connection between interior space and natural context.
In Tulum House, furniture is not simply placed inside the room. It becomes part of the architecture, shaping the experience of the villa through material continuity, craft, and proportion.
